2014 Song "Forever Strong"
The PEI 2014 Song Search was launched in May 2013 to find a celebratory, anthemic song that embraced the history of our country and the spirit of PEI 2014. In just 6 weeks Islanders submitted over 75 songs.
Forever Strong, written by Mike Ross & Nicole Bellamy, was selected as the PEI 2014 theme song by celebrity judges Raine Maida, Chantal Kreviazuk, and Lennie Gallant.
For the recording of the tune at Jon Matthews' Sound Mill Studios I got to play my Pbass and actually do some "singing" ( Mike Ross, John Angus MacDonald, Stephen MacDougall, Michael Perlmutter, Jon Matthews, Tian Wigmore, and myself singing the chorus to make it sound like 100 dudes .. not bad ) ...
John Angus MacDonald was a great guy and a great producer. He did everything to serve the song. it was a blast to record, and a blast to hang out at Sound Mill Studios and watch it all take form.
